The pair got engaged last year after a three-year romance but recently admitted they won’t be showing the wedding on MIC because Jamie believes relationships have a better chance of surviving away from the cameras.
He said on Lorraine of their relationship: ‘She is better than me in every single way, people look at me in the street like how did I do this.’
The pair have recently launched a new podcast called NearlyWeds where they discuss their plans for the wedding which will take place next spring abroad.
He said: ‘Getting married is so intense and this is a fun way to document it. We have arguments on the podcast and it is authentic.’
Jamie then said of the proposal: ‘It was the most nerve wracking thing in the world. I got this hotel with candles everywhere and I wrote letters and I got to the door and she read the letters as I was scared I would say the wrong thing. But she did say yes.’

Sophie then chipped in: ‘I knocked the candles over and then I started crying but it was such a happy day.’
Then then divulged some details of their wedding, with Jamie saying: ‘We have a bespoke perfume for the day. I’ll come in on a zip wire for the first dance and then do a solo cha cha and I’ll be wearing a white suit.
‘We want to do it abroad. It will be happening this time next year.’
Elsewhere in the interview they referenced their exclusive chat with MailOnline as they told they won’t be filming the wedding.
The couple have turned down offers to film their wedding for a Made In Chelsea special – after the Strictly star quit the E4 series to save their romance.
In their first joint interview, the engaged couple reveal they have decided against turning their nuptials into a reality spinoff show because Jamie believes relationships have a better chance of surviving away from the cameras.
The Candy Kittens owner told MailOnline reality TV is ‘tough on the soul’ and after realizing he wanted to marry former co-star Sophie he knew his departure from Made In Chelsea was inevitable.
Jamie revealed: ‘We got asked to do a TV show but it’s tricky.
‘I have done reality for so long and it’s tough on the soul. I don’t think TV is ever on your own terms so unless you have control over those things then it’s quite difficult.
‘It’s one of those things that you must decide whether you want to go down the reality TV route again or not.

‘When does it end?’: The couple have decided against turning their nuptials into a spinoff show because Jamie believes relationships have a better chance of surviving away from the cameras
‘Once you get married, what happens then? Do we do another show about being married… when does it end? For the moment I am parking reality.’
In agreement with her husband-to-be, Sophie added: ‘It is a day for us and our family and friends.’
Jamie, who asked Sophie to marry him in December with handwritten letters at London’s luxury Rosewood hotel, vowed that he’s ‘done’ with reality TV because he wants to protect his future marriage.
He added: ‘I left Made In Chelsea because I didn’t want my relationship with Sophie on camera. There were lots of other reasons but that was the big one.
‘I’ve seen so many relationships fail on reality TV shows, and I didn’t want that to happen.
‘Relationships on TV shows are difficult because of the constant need for content. Relationships can be mundane, and you feel the need to make things interesting, so everything becomes more exaggerated and that’s tough.’
Now, the Chelsea couple, who launched their new podcast NearlyWeds this week, are busy planning their wedding, though are yet to set a date or book a venue after struggling with the Covid-19 backlog.
The big day is being expertly arranged as Jamie and Sophie are working with a wedding planner, and already have a guest list of 220, which includes Jamie’s former co-stars and childhood friends Caggie Dunlop, Hugo Taylor, and Spencer Matthews, as well as his Strictly pal Giovanni Pernice.
